Perhaps you are having to sell the family home to help pay for care fees or downsize to a more manageable property... whatever may have prompted your decision to sell your home and move to pastures new, finding the right buyer and getting the price you want is no easy matter in the tough market conditions of today.

SELLING YOUR HOME...

GETTING STARTED...

Before putting your property on the market you will want a good idea of how long it will take to sell and what price you can realistically expect to get. The first thing you need to do is choose your estate agent. They will check the ESPC to see what other properties are on the market in your area and will arrange a Home Report (which is a survey, energy efficiency report and valuation) that must be in place before you put your property on the market.

WHAT OUR RECOMMENDED SOLICITORS WILL DO…

They will take you through all of the stages of selling your home from the initial marketing of your property, to negotiating a price and completing the legal work needed. As they are both estate agents and a law firm, they can do everything for you, taking away the stress of dealing with two different companies.

WHAT TO EXPECT...

They will arrange to come out to your home to chat through the process and make an initial assessment of your property and the market in your area. As they both have a dedicated team dealing with house sales they can really focus on getting the best deal for you - at the best price.

WORKING WITHIN THE ECF...

Working with other professionals within the Edinburgh Care Forum allows them to give you access to other experts who will be able to provide additional help and advice such as reviewing your financial affairs, obtaining tax advice, reviewing your Wills, considering Powers of Attorney, letting out any other property you might own and advice about on-going care needs.
